Songs and Spinnings

For those who weren't in the know, this weekend was Donald and my first wedding anniversary. For those in the know who sent 'Happy Anniversary' e-mails and texts, thank you. It meant a lot :-)

We both had Friday off work, and went out Xmas shopping. We can now say we've done our bit to keep the economy of this country chugging along, and hopefully, between the two of us, we've not departed *too* rabidly from everyone's tastes. There are still a few bods we've yet to find presentage for (and a couple of people we've bought something for that I still want to make something for), but basically, the day was successful.

Then, in the afternoon, we headed off to the sunny (!) wilds of Whitiangopolis to visit GorgoxMum&Dad. They have a wonderful homestay/B&B up there, and we had a relaxing time staying up with them for the weekend. As with most of the country, the weather wasn't exactly co-operative, but being the contrary sod that I am, I don't actually *need* blazing sunshine to enjoy myself. Howling gales and pelting rain have a romance all of their own (when you're inside, warm and dry, anyway), and it meant I got to spend lots of time snuggled up to my lovely husband (and even catch up on some sleep on Saturday), so really? Rain *NOT* a problem.

I felt very virtuous while I was up there. I was given the opportunity to use the Net , but I knew if I sat down in front of the PC, I'd end up trying to check in on work-y type stuff and someone would have to pry me off with a crowbar, so I simply ignored the computers and forced myself to actually relax while I was there!

So yeah. Wonderful weekend... impinged on somewhat by stuff that happened at training afterwards on Sunday. But that's food for another (probably friends-locked) entry, and I'm not going to sully this one with the attendant angsting.
