Once upon a time I believed in wild magic
In energy circles, and charges and shields
In the vast ebb and flow of the tides and the heavens
In great cosmic secrets that might be revealed
Once upon a time I wrote poems to the seasons
Sang songs to the planets as meteors sparked
I merged with the earth and the skies and the oceans
And drummed myself down through the deep silent dark
Once upon a time I was
strong in my spirit
But somewhere, at some point, I left it behind
Outgrew it? Betrayed it? I can't say for certain
Now logic and reason come first in my mind
I miss the wild mystical beauty of magic
The songs and the wonder, the joy and the pain
Do you think in a moment between this breath and that one
If I try, if I search, I might find it again?
